Choosing what to wear for your photoshoot can be a little stressful. So, I’ve gathered a few tips to help you select the perfect photo-worthy wardrobe to help you feel amazing! Have a look and choose what suits you.

1. Dress for the location and the weather and most importantly, be comfortable!

2. Pick fabrics that move and flow with you. Natural fibres and earthy colours look amazing in most settings and jewel tones are beautiful options. For example, a copper-coloured dress will look fabulous in a natural setting and sage green, mustard and burnt orange will always look amazing mixed with beige and white. Remember, I want to showcase YOU and your people – not just your clothes. (Scroll to the top of this page for a fantastic example of natural colours and style).

3. What to avoid: Prints, logos and busy plaids. Try to stay away from hot pink, bright red and neons that can cast unflattering reflections on your skin and anyone around you. A ballcap shadows the face but worn backwards is perfect.

4. If comfy overalls or distressed jeans and a cozy sweater are more your vibe, you do you!

5. Bring along a neutral blanket and depending on the weather, perhaps we can get some photos cuddled up in the long grass.

6. Accessories? Yes please! If accessories are your vibe, layer those bracelets, rings on every finger, a fedora, a vest and cool shoes add tons of personality to your session. And if you play the guitar, PLEASE bring it!!

6. Lastly, your goal is to compliment each other without being too ‘matchy matchy’!

I am located close to Port Perry, ON and serve Durham Region, Kawartha Lakes and surrounding areas. I love to travel and will gladly come to you! Travel fees do apply for sessions outside of the Port Perry area.

My entire photography philosophy is documenting real life. Real life is not perfect at all and it's these imperfections I find the most alluring, interesting, beautiful and true. I don't use Photoshop or AI. However, I will definitely smooth skin, remove acne, lipstick on teeth, animal fur, stains and distractions. Real, raw and true is what my photography is all about. If you are looking for manipulated perfection, there are plenty of photographers who specialize in Photoshop! But, I'm not your gal ♡
